Deep Tissue Massage Overview:
Deep Tissue techniques aim to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is critical to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. You may also be asked to participate in more active stretches or movements in order to best access deeper layers of tissue which need attention. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that some individuals may experience bruising or petechiae.

Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy or lingering effects postpartum. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation. This type of massage requires special protocols, such as extra propping and blankets, as well as avoiding certain areas of the hands, wrists, abdomen, ankles, and feet, in order to avoid blood flow issues and initiating preterm labor. Support my Continuing Education Clinical Practicum through FREE student-level therapy!
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy requires an intensive 3-year, 10-level certification program, and I'm seeking clients who are interested in learning about the practice by experiencing it for FREE!
This can be added onto the end of your massage therapy session or booked separately. Once the program is completed, the practice will be offered as a service at Moonwing Massage, PLLC.
What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?:
The practice involves lots of stillness and silence, with the therapist using very minimal and elongated hand contact 'holds' in specific areas of the body. The goal is to feel for then allow your cerebral spinal fluid to guide your body through healing. This technique is done on a massage table, fully clothed, covered and propped comfortably. The space is very calm, without music or other external distractions. Your therapist would compare the experience of this technique to relaxing into 'The Force' within a person, and facilitating a caring and safe place for the client's body and mind to feel encouraged in healing themselves naturally. It's a really great opportunity to go within yourself and grow, with someone nearby who is there with no other purpose than to support you without any discrimination or judgment.
"Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle non-invasive, hands-on session for the whole body. Performed on a massage table, the client is fully clothed and the practitioner touch is light and still. The session focus is to support the inherent health of the whole being, especially the nervous system (NS). The NS dictates all of the body’s functioning, constantly sending and receiving information.
BCST practitioners understand how an optimally functioning healthy nervous system performs. We are trained for years on how to use acute perception skills to perceive subtle physiological changes. We also are aware of the energetic map that underlies one‘s basic health and symptomology. We believe that health is never lost no matter what the ailment. We use our ability to identify the parts of the nervous system that are not functioning optimally and our awareness of the “always available health” in the body to assist the system in bringing itself back into balance. This supports greater ease and helps the body decrease symptoms."
